A private escort boat for a swim around Angel Island in San Francisco Bay. $1,080 per boat for 3 hours, up to 6 aboard.
A swim around Angel Island
An escort boat for a swim around Angel Island, booked for 3 hours. The boat stays beside or behind you, never in front, while you work around the island through the central Bay's currents.
- Route: around Angel Island. Captain Molly plans the start and the direction with you from the current on your date.
- Time: the boat is booked for 3 hours.
- Price: $1,080 for the escort boat, not per swimmer, with up to 6 aboard.
Who it's for
Experienced open-water swimmers who are comfortable with long swims in cold water. Captain Molly asks every swimmer whether they've swum open water in the Bay or only in a pool, and whether they're experienced in cold water, so tell her your recent long swims in the booking notes.
What the escort boat does
- Stays beside or behind you and keeps watch on ship and ferry traffic with AIS and radar.
- Carries your coach, feeds and an official observer if you want the swim observed, within the 6 aboard.
- Has a heated cabin for thermal recovery after the swim.
- A kayaker can join at extra cost; ask for the price.
Miss Molly is a 27-foot Shamrock Mackinaw 270 with a heated cabin and a private bathroom, radar, a FLIR thermal camera, AIS and an EPIRB. Captain Molly holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master license (100 GRT, Near Coastal) with a Radar Observer endorsement, and is trained in First Aid and CPR.
Wetsuit, feeds and gear
Wear what you normally wear for a cold-water swim, broken in, and bring your feeds. Know your equipment before swim day.
When to swim
Check the current on /jumptime and book a date. Captain Molly confirms the start with you in writing.
Per boat, not per swimmer
The price is for the whole boat and captain. Up to 6 people come aboard in any mix: swimmers, a coach, an official observer, family or a kayaker. Share the boat with training partners and split the cost however you like.
